The Castello was founded in the 14th century by the Visconti, when it was known as the Castello di Porta Giovia.
This magnificent castle houses an art gallery, where works of art from the Lombardy region are on display in more than 20 lavishly appointed rooms, one of them is attributed to Leonardo da Vinci, who worked as an engineer for the Sforza family. The last room contains Michelangelo's unfinished work the "Rondanini Pietà". |
